Hi there! I'm Jenn, Quilt Designer with a Playful Bias
… and the owner and designer behind Slightly Biased Quilts. With a lifelong love of bright colors and a PhD in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics, I bring a unique blend of creativity and precision to my quilt designs.
Slightly Biased Quilts started as a bias tape Etsy shop, but my passion for quilting soon took center stage. I’ve been quilting since 2009, and I find immense joy in transforming beautiful fabrics into stunning quilts, even with simple patterns. My focus is on creating beginner-friendly, scrap-busting quilt patterns that are quick and easy to assemble. I love helping new quilters experience the satisfaction of completing a beautiful project.
While I appreciate classic quilt blocks, I enjoy putting a modern spin on them with my fabric choices and color palettes. This playful approach lets you create quilts that feel fresh and unique. In addition to designing downloadable PDF patterns, I’m also a published quilt designer, a quilt instructor, and a lecturer. I’m a member of the DC Modern Quilt Guild and absolutely love connecting with fellow quilters at shows and events.
I’d love for you to join me on my quilting journey! Sign up for my newsletter, follow me on social media, or check out my blog for shop updates, beginner-friendly tips, and a peek into my creative process.
