Ho-lee-cow. I just checked my old posts and found that I haven’t written about anything crafty since September. Where have the last three months gone? I guess I’ve been busier than I thought. Looks like I need to sit myself down at my machine this weekend!

I had the pleasure of attending my friend Denise’s baby shower at the end of October. She is having a little girl, so I took advantage of the opportunity to sew something girlie. I sewed up the Market Skirt with a fun fabric that isn’t super pink but is definitely feminine. This tutorial was really easy to follow and turned out super cute. The only thing that slowed me down was finishing all the edges with my machine. I wish I had a serger! I really love how it turned out. I hope little Contessa enjoys it when she gets big enough to wear it!

I also sewed up my first Buttercup Bag for my friend Wren’s birthday. This pattern was so much fun! I did make the oval with buttons to attach, but they didn’t look right at all, so I didn’t put them on. It was so hard to part with this bag; I really wanted to keep it for myself! Happy Belated Birthday, Wren! I hope you like it!

More recently, Beth, Ellie, and I threw a baby shower for our wonderful friend Amanda, who is also having a little girl. We thought it would be fun to sew up a quilt for baby, so we hatched a plan, gathered our stashes, and spent an afternoon sewing up this baby.

Ellie sewed the orange blocks, Beth sewed the pink blocks, and I sewed the green blocks.

We backed it with this super-cute fabric from Joann’s that has an entire story about mother and baby and love written on it. We snatched it up the moment we saw it.

We also used this fabric flower tutorial to make a bouquet to go in her nursery.

My other gift to Amanda was a Market Skirt and a nursing cover. I can’t wait to meet all of these sweet babies that are on the way!
