After I finished my first quilt in a quilt-along led by Dana from the Old Red Barn Co., a group of quilters from the corresponding Flickr group decided it would be fun to do another quilt-along. We are doing a zig-zag quilt this time, and I decided to snag some of Heather Bailey’s Freshcut from Pickled Pear Lane for this quilt. I knew it had been discontinued, and I wanted to get some before it disappeared, but I didn’t have a reason to buy it until now. I love how soft and girly it is. (By the way, isn’t Pickled Pear Lane’s business card adorable? I love it.)

So, I’m really behind, but I’m try to catch up as quicky as I can. In the first week, we cut our fabric into squares and designed our quilts. Check. In the second week, we sewed and cut the squares into squares of triangles, followed by pressing seams. I’m done with the sewing and am in the middle of cutting and pressing. This week involves piecing together the quilt front, which I’m guessing is what I’ll be doing this Saturday at our Sewcial, because goodness knows I won’t find the time to finish the quilt top before then. I’m really enjoying the process of making this quilt, and can’t wait to show you more of it.
