I’m done! I finally finished hand-sewing the back of the binding last night (week 7 of the quilt-along).
It turns out I did half of the hand-sewing wrong. I saw this tutorial on the ladder stitch and actually yelled out loud, “Oh!”
I didn’t want to part with it, but I threw it in the wash today (after sleeping with it last night). Now it’s super wrinkly and comfy. If only it wasn’t 100 degrees outside. I’m tempted to crank on the air conditioning to 60 degrees to get to use my quilt, but I don’t think my husband would be too keen on that. Or our electricity bill.
I love, love, love my quilt! The whole process was a lot easier than I expected, especially the stippling. When I finished last night, my husband asked me what I was going to do now that my quilt was done. Apparently a lot of the participants in the quilt-along wondered the same thing… so now we’re going to do another quilt! YAY! (I think I’m hooked on quilting.) Amy from Park City Girl is going to lead us in sewing a zig-zag quilt. I’ve ordered my fat quarters and now I need to buy some solids and thread to finish it out. Stay tuned!
