After many lessons learned, here is my first apron. First off, the fabric was too see-through, so I should have lined it or picked a thicker fabric. Second, store-bought patterns have quite a learning curve. I had to re-learn a lot of sewing language in making this pattern, and I definitely made mistakes. And third, the picture on the pattern looked better than this turned out. I don’t know why the “skirt” is higher in the back than the front, but that wasn’t my mistake – that was the pattern. But overall, I think it turned out well for my third or fourth project since I started. It seems like every item I make, it turns out to teach me more about sewing, and no item I make ends up perfect. I wonder if that is because I am a beginner or if no sewing venture ends up perfect. What do you think?
